As you say "again", I therefore presume you must have eaten there before without any ill effects. As have I, and no doubt many other Ampthill residents. Knowing some of the background to this case, I wonder whether the inspector had gone out determined to find a dish of Sum-tin-wong. So wok on, Eddie!

That's very disturbing.

We have eaten pretty regularly at the Dew Drop over a long period without ever suffering any ill effects.

If you look at review sites, the people who eat there generally give it high ratings for the quality of the food and the service.

However, I don't see how I can possibly take my family there again given the inspector's hygiene rating.

what a shame that they didn't change having been advised.

That's a great argument it's like saying "we go to a restaurant in London and have lovely meals but after an inspection found out that the food being served was not what it was supposed to be and that young children were being used to scrub the kitchens down after hours" - still the meal was great so we will continue to go!

I think the Owner was lucky to get away with a fine. As he had already been advised that he should take action in many respects of
good hygiene and seems to have ignored the advice, I would have thought they might have actually shut him down until his premises
were clean and fit for purpose. But I suppose the bad publicity will have the desired effect by keeping people from his door, that way
he may learn that he has to put his "house in order".

For those that are interested if you go on the Food Standards Agency web site you can search for any establishment that serves food and see the latest star ratings - it makes for interesting reading - there is also an app for you to use which is handy if you haven't been to a place before.

That site makes for some very interesting reading C.C.
Dew Drop only seems to appear once in the listings and when it does, it gets the lowest score.
So I still think he was lucky to be allowed to keep on trading.
