The Albion in Dunstable Street

Yes, the Albion serves good ale. But so does the Queen's Head in Woburn Street and has a lovely atmosphere too. If you want a boogie and a fight, then try the White Hart on a Saturday night.

The Engine and Tender is good for football but depending who's playing you may have to get there early if you want a seat.

Hi welcome to Ampthill.
I agree that the Albion is best for beer. The Ossory is also good for football and has a quiz every month.

The Albion has certainly stormed it from a real ale point of view. Ossory for food and sport on 2 big TVs and great quiz and all round nice atmosphere. Old Sun has a lovely garden area.

Cheapest beer by far is at the Wingfield Club - and not a bad pint either. The Albion, which was recently voted Bedfordshire's Pub of the Year, has the widest range of well-kept ales, with a constantly-changing variety. They also play backgammon in there. The snug at the Queen's Head is the cosiest and friendliest (challenge the landlord to a game of chess if it isn't too busy). The Directors I supped in there the other night would take some beating. In fact I'm off there now to down several more pints ...!

We're quite lucky with the pubs here. Just about every clientele catered for somewhere.
Long may they ALL thrive.

Ossory Quiz - we are doing the quiz once a month at the moment - on the 3rd Thursday of every month so next one will be on 21st June. However, if you would like a specific quiz done on a specific night and you can guarantee to bring at least 3 teams let me know and I'll see what I can do.
