Don't forget to add a photo or a review of your favourite pub....

Pubs

With all this sunny weather there should be some good photo opportunities.

I'm after a little advice from those more experienced than me.

My sister and her tribe are visiting from lands to the north this weekend and before they drive back they wanted to go to a pub to have lunch and watch the Sunderland - Newcastle game on Sky.

There'll be two adults and two kids (10 and 12) so reasonable food, nothing too rough and a big telly showing the game is what's needed.

As having a large screen TV in a pub, and playing a team ball game with a spherical ball are both anathemas to me, I'm at a loss to recommend anywhere. So I'd be grateful if anyone could suggest a suitable establishment.

Thanks in advance!

Not a frequenter of pubs these days either - but I think both the White Hart and Engine and Tender seem to have blackboards outside offering Sky matches.

There's also that very dodgy place in Flitwick opposite Tesco's - but if they come from "oop north" they will probably find it not that bad. :D

There is a TV in the Chequers - but not sure it would be big enough

White Hart would be my suggestion - been there a couple of times with my son to watch Man U games. There are quite a few tvs dotted around the bars.

By the way it's on ESPN not Sky:

Sun 4th Mar Newcastle United V Sunderland Premier League 12:00 ESPN / ESPN HD

Try the Ossory - 2 big TVs, friendly banter atmosphere, nice food (from sandwiches to sharing plates of nachos to burgers to steak)

Can I put in a recommendation for the Greyhound in Haynes Northwood End... lots of Gluten Free items on the menu!
