If you missed it the first time, there's another charity cask of Bury Flyer -Ampthill's first commercial brew since 1927- on at the Albion this Wednesday, 15th October, 5.30pm for as long as it lasts.... and on at The Queens Head, Ampthill very soon.

Yes Carolyn, the Bury Flyer has been a big hit. Most of it is sold now. There is one cask left and that is on sale tomorrow at the new micro pub The Cuckoo, Toddington. :Be

THE keg has run dry for an independent brewery just 12 months after opening.

Ampthill Brewery, based on the outskirts of the market town, has had to close its doors citing a lack of local free houses and pubs willing to stock their products.

David Thomas, a founding member of the brewery, said: "The community support has been amazing and it is such a shame we have had to close after such a short time."

The team of four brewers (pictured) have received plenty of orders from individuals in the community single bottle purchases, but the larger repeat orders just haven't been there for the micro-brewery.
