Number 4

Where are the best places to have a meal or drink locally?

Surprised nobody else has mentioned this yet, but the transformation of Lord Shayler's former brothel into an eatery seems to be complete. It actually looks quite tempting. I've not seen the man himself around so perhaps he's rented it to people who know what they're doing.

I heard through the grapevine that the real owner of the property has rented it to someone else.
Perhaps, just perhaps, his Lordship has decided to get on with his life somewhere else?

Dear BoS and other papers, do your own research and report that rather than quoting me ;-)
Was still reading the Daily Mail online to make sure I've not yet become a grumpy old man.
Then one day, I found I was screaming at the screen.
Now banned from a coffee shop :-)

Perhaps we should ask Paradise_Alley to do one of his Product Tests??
I'm sure he would give us all his "take" on No.4 = say, class it from 1-10. :AA

one thing I will say the building looks great from the outside, and with tables chairs outside makes it look more like a market town so well done.

I took some pictures in the town on Monday morning. The light was low and warm and lit a few places in an interesting way. One of the pics was outside No 4 and I think the frontage looks quite elegant and friendly, though I have yet to give it a try.

I think a sign outside says "Under new management" -- does that mean Lord S is not involved?

My son went for lunch yesterday and it sounds as if they may have opened too early and are unprepared. There was hardly anything available on the menu, the other tables hadn't been cleared, the floor needed sweeping, they managed to bring 2 out 3 orders wrong, and when they went to pay they were asked to provide exactly the correct amount owing in cash because the till wasn't working.

I was told something similar at the weekend. Hopefully a short-term blip and they get it all ironed out soon.
The place looks nice from the outside. Not had the pleasure of crossing the doors as yet.
To jest pieprzone rondo!
