Seems puppy Dotty is in the doghouse at the Queen’s Head after eating landlord Richard Hammond’s new £60 Christmas tree.

No doubt our local newshound will have this hilarious story all over the papers before you can say "Charlie Garth".

Drinking is the easy road to evil and damnation. Drink will pollute your body and soul. Give up the foul spirits and live a better life.

Spot on. It was in the BoS today with a picture of the landlord. But your comment strikes me as a little pejorative. Is this because of your dislike of "our local newshound" or antipathy towards the Queen's Head? OK, it's not exactly Monty Python, but the incident strikes me as quite amusing and the publicity is good for an Ampthill business (albeit a pub serving the demon drink – sorry Herbert!). So what's not to like there?
