What is going on....now hardly any room to get through.

Do they have to have planning permission?

If my memory serves me correctly, the land between Richardson's and Nat.West was always in the ownership of the Town Council, handed onto them
by the Ampthill Urban District Council at reorganisation of Local Government in 1970/71.When Mr Richardson took over the building on the corner he
was constantly plagued with lorries catching the roof of his building as they negotiated the land behind. Hence the wooden bollards beside the shop
which were put there to help avoid this problem. I believe he put them in, with the blessing of the Town Council.
So, unless things have changed as to ownership, the Town Council will have given permission for the hoarding to be positioned where it is for a restricted
period. However, it certainly has restricted the access considerably.

I believe the plan is for a restaurant on the ground floor with flats above. So long as it isn't a McDonald's or KFC .. or another hairdressers. Or a nails bar ....

Artist impression on the boards looks very nice.

I notice that the building has 7 parking spaces, but shop, restaurant and offices, so could be a bit of a bun fight who gets the space.

You can bet your bottom dollar that however many parking spaces there are there, it will add to the parking problems overall!!!!
Especially if there is a restarant as well.
