Bigger layby on A507 -- becomes an ex-layby

Postby CraftsbyCarolyn » Thu Sep 26, 2013 11:06 pm

I notice that they are doing some roadworks on the layby next to the golf course opposite Center Parcs - looks like they are making it bigger? Maybe so that they can visit the woods?

I was thinking of going for a walk there recently and wondered whether it would be Ok to park in Staples car park and then go for a coffee afterwards, but read this review:

http://www.gardencentreguide.co.uk/stap ... rd/reviews

When I went in I did ask if we went for a coffee would it be Ok - but the lady at the till said the owner wouldn't be happy so decided to give it a miss, shame as I thought as they have loads of parking they wouldn't mind as long as I used the facilities, I am sure I would have probably bought a plant too.

so looks like the layby will mean I can go there without the need of a coffee - so save me some money anyway :)

Looks to me like they're getting rid of the layby.

Not sure why they got rid of it -- anyone know? It's handy to have laybys, eg when the phone goes and you need to pull over.

well it looks as though they have put in a proper 'bridleway' type of crossing and taken out the layby, that is a shame that it has gone. People often stopped there, and tractors etc would pull in, I can't think why it had to go, I don't ever remember seeing a problem there.

Is it the footpath that goes across the middle of the golf course?

Hmmmm.....

Is it going to be come a pedestrian crossing of some flavor so that CenterParcs residents can get to the golf course perhaps?

I wouldn't want to risk crossing that road. I have to use that road twice a day if not more and the speed of some cars coming along that road is dangerous. not to mention the idiots you see still on their phones when driving.

First time today since this posting started that I have passed the site. Judging by the design, it looks as if it is a crossing for horse-riders. Looks more dangerous than the Grand National!

I see that the road will be closed next thursday night, so maybe there is a crossing going in...all very odd.
