A colleague has been and said it is excellent! Seems they spent a lot of money on the revamp!

we popped along today, well worth a visit, tea rooms nice too, with outside seating.

Some interactive displays, chairs that you sit in and they talk to you!

I think the only crticism I would make was that they could have more Luton history (Vauxhall, electrolux, even the airport, and how Wardown park was used in the early times of the Council - there are boards around the park), and maybe some of the less 'general' stuff like some toys and books etc.

Downstairs was all devoted to the house and its residents/museum curators, and the rooms have been recreated.

they had about the hat making upstairs.

But sure there are lots to develop and learn, I hope it is a success. Maybe they could re open the lake as a boating lake :)

Food was nice and very reasonable price. Museum Free - so what's not to like :)

also how to get involved

We visited the Mossman Collection at Stockwood Park a few years back and that had a lot of displays on the industrial history of Luton and also on the football club so maybe they are still there and they didn't want to duplicate.

Maybe, although I can't remember much about the recent social history there. They did have some Vauxhall cars I remember, but the actual Mossman collection has no connection with Luton.

We went there last year, and a good day out. Took a picnic and bought an ice cream....

We don't seem to have anything like that in our district, or do we? Just have some parks that are huge open spaces.
