Bird feeder

Postby Sagitar » Sat Jun 04, 2016 1:13 am

Last Saturday I had a birthday and my big present was a new long-focus lens for my Fuji.

I've been busting to try it, but we've had a busy week and the weather has not been good, so I didn't get around to it until today.

In desperation I decided to put the camera on a tripod and try for some shots of the bird feeder through the dining room window.

Here are a few of them:

First a very smart Goldfinch who was around for only a few seconds. The nyger feeder is on the other side of the table and that was where he wanted to be.

Then, in contrast a very scruffy young Coal tit, still putting on adult plumage,

but clever enough to know where the sunflower seeds are.

Finally, an old hand. A Great tit who has a look around,

grabs a kernel;

tidies it up;

and launches like a little rocket
