Richardsons are Changing

On April 28th our shop and jewellery repair workshop in Ampthill will sadly be closing.

We are holding a STOCK CLEARANCE SALE, with at least 40% off all jewellery and watches.

As off May 1st we will continue as Richardsons specialists in the repair of Antique Clocks, Watches and Barometers from our new workshop in Maulden.

We have had a very happy 47 years at The Market House and would like to thank all of our customers for your support over the years.
It is the end of an era however we look forward to welcoming new and existing Clock and Watch customers in our new Maulden workshop.

Our new address for clock repairs will be; Burgoine Business Centre, 117 Clophill Road, Maulden, MK45 2AE, 01525 403474

Sad. It seems only recently that they had a refurb, and it's always been the smartest looking shop in town.

yes - it is most attractive, and has lovely pieces in there.

Not helping was so many half done up shops at the moment, one on the square has come to halt

I am sure Mr Richardson has probably retired. He was at one time Chairman of the local Chamber of Trade here in Ampthill. I am not sure that still exists.
The building will not return to being a Butchers, as it was before Richardson took it over and converted it.
It was Everett's. The family owned the house at No 13 Church Street (no longer there) and they had a slaughter yard in the back and at one time
slaughtered the animals for the shop at that premises. Mrs Everett, who ran the shop, was always cheery whenever you were in there to buy their meat.
I'm going back to the early 60's now - how time flies.

Ampthill Chamber of Trade has been through one or two different guises since Peter's day, I think it is now the Ampthill Busiiness Community and seems to be thriving, although with a very different remit .
